Better visibility. Smoother workflows. Smarter requests.
EAM version 12.3 is on the way, and it’s packed with updates that make managing your system easier and more efficient. Below, we’ve rounded up a few key improvements you can expect when the upgrade hits the cloud on November 15.
Part Catalog Requests
Version 12.3 introduces a new screen that allows users to request the creation of a new part or an update to an existing one including pricing, supplier, manufacturer, and store information.
Two system types are supported for Part Catalog Requests:
1. New Part Requests: Supports the creation of the Part record itself, as well as all the related entities to associate with the new part.
2. Update Existing Part: Supports any and all changes to an existing part. This can be updates to the Part record view and/or the creation/updating of pricing, supplier, manufacturer, or store information.
Part Catalog Requests is an Approval Workflow supported entity, so that approval workflows (i.e. review by a parts specialist, inventory control, finance, etc.) can be put in place to enforce data integrity in the part catalog. For more details, see the Part Catalog Requests Feature Brief.
Did you know?
Tech Wheelhouse’s Smart Part solution offers a similar workflow, focused on enforcing Part Description standardization while identifying and removing duplicate parts. Smart Part works with older versions of EAM as well, not just 12.3.
A new Copy Link icon has been added to the EAM application header, along with a corresponding right-click action item.
The Copy Link feature will be enabled for all screens where the Add Record toolbar icon is currently enabled. This feature allows a user to copy a link (i.e. drillback URL) to the currently selected record, to the user's local clipboard. The link may further be shared via email or message as desired.
Business Intelligence
For Oracle Cloud customers, two new menu items expand reporting and visualization options:
1. Business Intelligence Author: Powered by Apache Superset. BI Authors can create datasets, charts and dashboards utilizing the tables and views of the EAM system along with custom queries. Requires user to have an “Author” license.
2. Business Intelligence Dashboards: View the dashboards published by the BI Author(s). Select a dashboard's name to review the charts within.

Equipment List View | Update Equipment Structure
Equipment hierarchy fields are now updatable via right-click on the Equipment screens’ List View. This includes the Assets, Positions, Systems, and Locations screens.
Approval Workflow Setup
An additional value was added to the From Status lookup, 'On Insert', to support inserts as triggering workflow events for all entities. This option can be selected in addition to other values in the multi-select lookup.

These are just a few of the updates coming with EAM 12.3.
