Global Part Search

Did you know the Global Search feature helps you quickly find parts across multiple catalogs?

The Global Search feature allows users to quickly locate information across the system, making it a valuable tool for enhancing efficiency. It can be accessed from any parts look-up within the application via the Filter tab in the DataSpy filter or the Quick Filter dropdown. Since it does not correspond to a single field, it cannot be added to a screen layout or set as the default Quick Filter option—but it remains available through the dropdown for convenient access.

The Global Search feature is especially helpful when a user does not know the exact EAM part number but does have a related number, such as one from a supplier or manufacturer. By selecting the Global Search Contains option, the system searches across the part number, supplier catalog, and manufacturer catalog to find matching values.

This feature is accessible not only from the Part screen but also from various other areas, such as the Work Order/Parts tab, Purchase Order/Parts tab, and Requisition/Parts tab. Essentially, it is available anywhere a parts look-up is used within the application.
