Give Digital Work a Facelift with Tiles

Want to make your Digital Work application feel more intuitive and show your everyday users you're on top of the latest features?! The new Tile layout swaps the old hamburger-menu for a colorful, touch-friendly feel - perfect for techs who live on their phones and tablets!

Below is a quick, three-step recipe to turn it on and tailor it for your liking:

Step 1: Create Records on the Digital Work Home Setup screen

This is where you create the "tile" records

  • Code: The Digital Work Home code can be named whatever you like

  • Description: This will be what's displayed under the tile in the app's Home screen

  • Insert Mode Checkbox:

    • Determines whether clicking the tile opens the list view (unchecked) or the insert record panel (checked)

    • If Insert Mode is selected, a blue plus sign will appear next to the tile in the app

    • Note: Selecting or not selecting Insert Mode does not affect a user's permission to insert records - it only sets the default behavior when accessing the screen via the tile

Step 2: Configure Tiles for User Group

  • Navigate to the Digital Work Home tab of the User Group screen

  • Add the tiles you want for the user group, specifying the sequence (I recommend in intervals of 10)

  • Once the records are added to this screen, the tiles will appear for all users in that user group in Digital Work

  • Note: Configuration on the Digital Work Home tab take priority over what's defined on the Digital Work Menus tab for the user group

Step 3: Change the Tile Icon (Optional)

  • Navigate to the Screens screen, and locate the screen record associated with the tile (i.e., WSJOBS).

  • Select an icon from the Digital Work App Icon dropdown

    • Note: this field is hidden by default in screen designer

One more thing… Digital Work also supports your Custom Screens and Workflow! As EAM experts, feel free to give us a shout if you'd like feedback or a helping hand in configuring the Digital Work application!
